Acupuncture Points on the Horse is written by one of the acupuncturists who introduced animal acupuncture into the United States in 1971.  Sixty of the major points on the horse are identified with detailed descriptions and multi-layered illustrations.  Point indications and Special Functions are described.

The book includes a brief history of animal acupuncture and how to understand the concept of transposed points.  There is also a chapter on treating the Eight Extraordinary Vessels on the equine.

  • Dr. Bruno was the co-director of the Veterinary Acupuncture Division of the National Acupuncture Association that introduced animal acupuncture into the United States for the first time in 1972.

  • In 1973 Dr. Bruno, with co-director Dr. John Ottaviano and several veterinarians, created the National Association of Veterinary Acupuncture (NAVA).

  • In 1975, members of NAVA, working with other veterinarians who were beginning to explore acupuncture, created the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS).
